Thermography vs. Mammography and Others

HOW IS THEROMOGRAPHY DIFFERENT THAN A MAMMOGRAM OR ULTRASOUND?

Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) is a screening of physiology. Unlike mammograms and ultrasounds, it detects infrared heat that is present on the body surface. With the advanced technology of breast thermography, it is very useful in early detection and ongoing monitoring of any abnormal physiology in your body. This increases the detection of early development stages of cancer.

Mammograms and ultrasounds are tests of anatomy. This means they look at the structure of abnormalities. It is only when a tumor has grown large enough to be detected that it will be shown on either of these tests.

Mammograms use radiation and ultrasounds use sound waves to detect abnormalities, whereas breast thermography uses non-harmful infrared imaging.

Only a biopsy can diagnose cancer. However, using the combination of breast thermography, mammograms, ultrasounds, and physical examinations, women can be comfortable knowing they are doing everything possible to provide themselves with the best possible breast health.
